2015

(SPAIN)

Grupo México is granted the international tender for the exploration and exploitation of the Aznalcollar Mine.

2014

(MÉXICO)

Operations at the Buenavista del Cobre SX/EW Plant III (electrolytic extracted copper cathode plant),begin. This plant operates the largest volume of solutions in the world.

2013

(SPAIN)

Start of operations at the new Buenavista del Cobre Molybdenum Plant.

2007

(PERÚ)

Start of operations at the new Ilo Smelter.

2005

(PERÚ)

Southern Peru Copper Corporation merges with Minera México and subsidiaries, changing the company name to Southern Copper Corporation (SCC) and trading on the New York Stock Exchange, becoming the most important mining company in México and Peru.

Ground is broken on the Toquepala Concentrator Plant expansion.

Ground is broken on the SX/EW Plant in Cananea.

Grupo México S. A. de C. V. begins trading under its new name: Grupo México.

Southern Peru Copper Corporation acquires the Copper Refinery in Ilo.

The historic Compañía Minera de Cananea (now Buenavista del Cobre) is acquired in Sonora.
